anybody here using amps sims?

I've been using GR5 Pro for a month or so. I really like it.

Big fan of Guitar Rig 5. I used it for a punk/metal record and with some layering I got some great tones. I think Guitar Rig 5 takes a bit of learning to get the tones right to fit in a mix, but once you do - It's actually quite brilliant. I have also been looking into the Amplitube Fender/Orange stuff since I'm a huge fan of those kinds of tones lately.

Well, yeah, you're supposed to have a cab sim. Of course they sound bad without one, free or not.
